Judging & Awards

Throughout the day, judging takes place based on personality, attitude, awareness, leadership, citizenship, contribution to the community and overall appearance, charm, and poise.

Queen
As Queen, this individual is expected to make numerous appearances and help with as many events as possible at the rest of the county fair. After the Fayette County Fair, she will represent Fayette County at the Iowa State Fair Queen Pageant in Des Moines. She will also be asked to help at various activities throughout the year that happen at the fair, and to ride through all the town celebration parades in our county for the remainder of the summer and next summer that she is able to. Our judges choose the recipient of this title.
Princess
Before we crown our Queen, we crown our Princess. As Princess, this individual is expected to make numerous appearances and help with as many events as possible at the rest of the county fair. She will also be asked to help at various activities throughout the year that happen at the fair, and to ride through all the town celebration parades in our county for the remainder of the summer and next summer that she is able to. Our judges choose the recipient of this title.
Runner Up
Before we crown our Princess and Queen, we crown a Runner-Up. Our judges choose the recipient of this award.
Leadership
This award recognizes a candidate who inspires others in their community. Recipients of this award exhibit strong leadership within their community, active volunteer hours, and a desire to set an example of good character. Our judges choose the recipient of this award.
Personality Plus
Throughout the day, the ladies really get to know each other well and have lots of chances for interaction. To end the contest, each candidate votes on which individual they think is the friendliest and exhibits a sincere positive attitude. Our candidates collectively choose the recipient of this award.
Overall Fundraiser
This award recognizes a candidate who goes above and beyond fundraising for her pie. Recipients of this award exhibit a strong desire to continue making an impact through improvement projects around the Fayette County Fairgrounds. The candidate who raises the largest amount of money for her pie is the recipient of this award.
